A meeting of Nigerian politicians and Nigerian state governors who formed a breakaway faction of Nigeria’s ruling party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was on Sunday disrupted by officials of the Nigeria Police Force.
Nigerian Police Officer CSP Nnanna Ama who intruded the meeting of the Nigerian governors and politicians reportedly came with the support of six truck loads of Nigerian police officers.
Immediately after gaining entrance to the room where the meeting was under way, he told Governor Kwankwanso that the meeting be stopped. He claimed he was acting on orders “from above,” though he reportedly did not say on whose specific orders.
According to Nigerian newspaper, Vanguard, Nigerian governors and politicians present at the meeting were Governor Kwankwanso, Governor Lamido, Governor Aliyu, Governor Nyako, Governor Amaechi, Alhaji Baraje, Alhaji Kashim Imam, Senator Abubakar Saraki, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, Senator Danjuma Goje, immediate past governors of Kwara, Nasarawa, and Gombe States, Mr. Timipre Sylva, Senator Aisha Alhassan, Chief Olagunsoye Oyinlola, Chief Sam Sam Jaja, Chief Segun Oni, and Ambassador Ibrahim Kazaure.
