Some Nigerians seeking Nigerian passports in Canada were angry because they travelled from a long-distance as far away as from Calgary and Saskatoon to pick up their Nigerian passports from the Nigeria high commission in Ottawa, Canada but were unable to receive services.

The Nigerians had appointments with the Nigeria high commission and when they arrived at the Nigeria high commission office in Ottawa, Canada they learnt the office was closed.

The Nigerians seeking services from the Nigeria high commission were especially angry because they were not notified of the closure of the Nigeria high commission on Thursday.

The few Nigeria high commission staff in the office on Thursday said they did not know how to operate the computer that makes passports and visas.

A Nigerian in Canada, Oluwakemi Ola stated, “I am not Canadian yet, but the moment I become Canadian, I am burning this passport, I will burn it and I will never, never in my life get a Nigerian passport”.
