Bomb blast near Abuja night club – Daily Trust

Five cars including two Sport Utility Vehicles (SUVs) were destroyed yesterday following a bomb explosion in the vicinity of Crystal Lounge, a popular night club in Abuja situated on Aminu Kano Crescent, Wuse II in Abuja.
FCT Police Commissioner Aderele Shinaba confirmed to Weekly Trust that there was an explosion around midnight but said “I am going there now. It is too early to make comment.”

He later told Weekly Trust that the bomb was thrown from a moving vehicle by a man driving on the opposite lane close to Etisalat office. “No casualty was recorded apart from the two SUVs that had their windshields and other glasses shattered by the blast.”

Our reporter who visited the area said he saw security operatives at the scene searching for clues.

“I heard the deafening sound from my room here in Zone 6,” Mohammed Sani, who resides in Zone 6, told Weekly Trust by phone.
