EFCC Chair, Farida Waziri, Sacked

Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mrs. Farida Waziri, was unexpectedly sacked earlier today via a statement signed by Dr. Reuben Abati, Special Adviser to the President (Media and Publicity).
The statement released from the Office of President Goodluck Jonathan stated,
“PRESIDENT JONATHAN APPROVES APPOINTMENT OF NEW EFCC CHAIRMAN
President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has approved the appointment of Mr. Ibrahim Lamorde as the Acting Chairman/Chief Executive of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
The appointment takes immediate effect, and effectively relieves Mrs. Farida Waziri of her position as EFCC Chairman.”
Dr. Abati stated that the dismissal of Mrs. Waziri may be part of broader future changes in the fight against corruption. What are you thinking?
