NUPENG and PENGASSAN Begin 3 Day Warning Strike

The National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) and Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) began a three-day warning strike earlier today over the scary state of insecurity in Nigeria, especially the Niger Delta region. Sporadic kidnappings of workers in the Oil and Gas industry in Nigeria has been a source of deep concern for the workers, so they were left with no other option but to embark on a 3 day warning strike, and may extend the strike, if the President Goodluck Jonathan led Government of Nigeria cannot demonstrate they can provide security for Nigerians.
